Which Supplement Should I Take?

Sometimes you need a little extra boost.

You make sure to get your daily dose of greens and you always log in an Aaptiv workout but, sometimes you need just a little extra boost. Of course, you should consult your doctor or nutritionist before making any additions to your health routine and before testing any supplement, but if you’re ready to add a supplement to your routine, these are a few options you can begin with.

Whether you’re trying to catch some quality ZZZs or you’re hoping to support your immune system so you never have to miss another workout, there’s a supplement to fit the bill. If you’re imaging unsavory powdery mixes or clunky vitamins, think again. Supplements have a come a long way. There are gummies and tasty mixes that are perfect complements to your morning smoothie—the options are diverse and growing all the time.

For better sleep:

Vitafusion Beauty Sleep ($12.59)

Don’t let these gummies fool you. They may resemble candy chews, but they’re powerful vitamins. One serving provides three mg of melatonin. Melatonin is believed to help support a restful night and sleep cycle regulation. This way you can wake up ready for that 6AM training session.

For gut health:

The Beauty Chef BODY Inner Beauty Powder with Matcha ($80)

You might not realize it, but your gut is the powerhouse of the body. A healthy gut can mean a healthy immune system, clear skin, more energy, and yep, even good hair. The Beauty Chef’s powder contains plant proteins, super-fruits, vegetables, alkalizing greens, and probiotics. These are said to offer mega digestive health benefits. Plus, green tea matcha contains free-radical fighting antioxidants to help keep your skin looking young.

For immunity:

The Honest Co. Immunity Plus ($19.95)

A healthy immune system is the key to a strong body. Keep yourself protected against that pesky cold that’s going around the office with this natural blend of Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin D3, B-vitamins, and botanicals such as echinacea, elderberry, acerola cherry, and ginger. The single-serve packets are ideal for on-the-go use.

For energy:

HUM Uber Energy ($25)

It can be easy to skip those after-work workouts but, a sustained source of energy can keep you from crashing before 5PM. HUM’s energy formula is designed to provide a consistent source of energy. This is thanks to L-tyrosine and rhodiola rosea to ward off fatigue and gotu kola to help maintain concentration.

For de-stressing:

The Organic Pharmacy Calcium & Magnesium Complex ($34)

If a hearty sweat session doesn’t help you completely unwind, a blend of vitamins and minerals might be in order. This mix of calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium and more is one option for easing nerves both physically and mentally. In fact, calcium and magnesium aid in bone, joint, nerve, muscular, and immune health.

For a metabolism boost:

Welleco Alkalising Greens ($45)

This is a powerhouse cocktail of 45 nutrients. It is specifically designed to help you maintain a healthy pH balance, improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and kickstart your metabolism. It’s basically a multi-vitamin mix for your water, smoothies, or shakes.

For all-around nutrition:

Burt’s Bees Daily Protein Powder ($29.99)

Sometimes you just need a do-it-all. Burt’s Bees new protein powders contain 15 grams of plant-based protein and offer up two servings of fruits and veggies. The mixture is gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. You can mix it into smoothies or shakes. It can also provide ten percent of your recommended daily value of 12 essential vitamins.
